Whenever I am in Chamonix I go to Le Petit salon for a haircut and colour. The quality and service are both great. It is very well located close to the train station making it easy to access without a car from other areas in the Valley. There are also a couple of car parks close bye that usually have free spots (parking du poilu & des allobroges).

I got the single worst haircut and dye job of my life here. Came in looking 19, left looking 45. I had beautiful (or so people have said) long wavy brown hair. Needed a trim and to even out the color. My hair is now black and looks terrible against my skin tone. The cut is really not suited for my hair type at all. I have curtain bangs and she absolutely attacked them, cutting them straight across. I had to go home and fix them myself so that they actually swept properly and blended with the rest of my hair. The ambiance of the salon was nice and I could tell that the older hairdresser was experienced with textured hair and probably would have done a wonderful job. I don’t think it’s a terrible place or anything but I’m extremely unhappy with how my cut and color turned out. It’ll take months for the color to fade to something acceptable because of how dark and aggressive the shade is. I should’ve spoken up a little more when I was there and while we were figuring out the color, but I figured that they wouldn’t have done anything too terrible since they’re professionals. I think the younger girl lacks experience and should not work with clients who have more textured hair. She also didn’t seem to have any knowledge of the products she was using to color my hair. I really hate to leave a bad review and I hope I’m an odd case, but I honestly feel embarrassed to leave the house with how bad my hair looks. I wish I had never gone and hadn’t spent €150 on the service. I do want to say that everyone was friendly and it was a nice experience, I just look horrible after the fact.
